At the Russell Martin Foundation (RMF), we’re proud to work hand-in-hand with The Starr Trust, an amazing charity that’s all about helping young people reach their potential. The charity was set up in 2008 by Rob Starr, inspired by the values his father, Edward, passed down to him—the belief that anything is possible with the right support. That same spirit continues to guide The Starr Trust today.

Rob Starr, who was recently awarded an MBE for his incredible community work, is the driving force behind the charity. Every single penny raised goes straight to supporting young people and their dreams, and Rob’s dedication is nothing short of inspiring.

What makes this partnership even more special is that The Starr Trust helps fund some of RMF’s educational projects, supporting the young people we work with across Sussex.

But Rob’s work doesn’t stop there. Alongside running The Starr Trust, he’s the CEO of Seico Insurance & Mortgage Group, a published author, and a playwright. His book, From Starr to Starrfish, tells the story of how he conquered his fear of water to swim the English Channel—a brilliant example of his determination. On top of that, Rob’s leading a project to turn Brighton & Hove’s King Alfred Leisure Centre into a buzzing community hub with space for leisure, theatre, and the arts.
