FOOTBALL RETURNS TO OLD BARN WAY
Football returned to Old Barn Way in Southwick last weekend as part of long term plan by The Russell Martin Foundation to regenerate and transform the football ground into a new community football hub.
Southwick FC’s under 13’s boys and girls teams both took part in games on Sunday as part of the return of regular junior football to the site in the coming months which will include a Russell Martin Academy half-term football camp for boys and girls in February.
Gary Mansell, Director of Football, RMF said:
“We are delighted to welcome local football back to Old Barn Way. It has taken a long time but after a lot of hard work from our team and local partners to ensure the site is safe and in a satisfactory condition we are really pleased to see it host regular football once again. This is the first step in bringing Old Barn Way back into use for the local community including our football camp next month.
We’d like to thank everyone for their patience and also thank all those that have contributed to the ground improvements. We are excited for what the future holds at Old Barn Way and look forward to sharing these plans soon.”
Further details on RMF’s exciting new plans for Old Barn Way will be announced soon.
The RMA Football Camp at Old Barn Way for girls and boys aged between 5 and 12 takes place on Monday February 13th and Tuesday February 14th.
