The Russell Martin Foundation is delighted to welcome former professional footballer and manager Mark McGhee as an official Ambassador for the charity.

Mark has enjoyed a long and successful career in football, both as a player and manager, and has maintained a strong connection with RMF founder Russell Martin over the years. He was part of the Scotland national team coaching staff when Russell earned international caps and has continued to follow Russell's journey both on and off the pitch.

Mark's commitment to community work dates back to his time as manager of Brighton & Hove Albion, where he showed an interest in the club's community programmes. During that period, RMF CEO Alan Sanders was working within the Brighton & Hove Albion Foundation, and the pair developed a strong relationship that has continued ever since.

Since Alan joined the Russell Martin Foundation eight years ago, Mark has remained a keen supporter of the charity's work and has regularly taken an interest in its growth and impact across Sussex and beyond. When approached about becoming an Ambassador, Mark was delighted to get involved and support the Foundation's future ambitions.

The appointment continues RMF's proud tradition of working alongside former professional footballers. Current and former supporters of the charity include Chris Whelpdale, Charlie Oatway, Paul Rodgers, Sergio Torres and Jay Lovett. Today, the Foundation continues to benefit from the experience of former professionals across the organisation, including Ambassador Mark McGhee and Trustee Larry May.

Speaking about his new role, Mark said he was pleased to be supporting a charity that continues to make such a positive difference to young people and communities.

Everyone at RMF is excited to welcome Mark to the team and looks forward to working closely with him in the years ahead.

Mark will also be appearing on TalkSPORT over the next five weeks as part of the station's coverage of the FIFA World Cup in the USA.
