Russell Martin Foundation Charity Game Raises £6,000
This past weekend, we were treated to an exhilarating charity match organised by the Russell Martin Foundation (RMF). The event saw Southampton manager and RMF founder Russell Martin leading a team of ex-professional football players and celebrities against a team of Burgess Hill Town FC legends. The match, held to raise funds for RMF, was a great success, culminating in a nail-biting finish.
Burgess Hill Town FC legends took a 3-0 lead. However, the Russell Martin Eleven showcased their resilience, mounting a comeback to level the score at 3-3. The match then went to penalties, where the Burgess Hill Town FC legends clinched victory in a shootout.
The charity game was generously sponsored by Love Admin, whose support was instrumental in making the event possible. RMF CEO Alan Sanders expressed his gratitude and joy over the success of the day: "We are thrilled with how the day went. The support from the community and everyone involved was incredible, and we are proud to announce that we raised £6,000 for the foundation."
The funds raised will go towards supporting the RMF's initiatives, which focus on providing opportunities and support for young people through sports, education, and health improvement
A huge thank you goes out to everyone who attended and participated in the match. Your contributions and enthusiasm made the day unforgettable and will help make a significant difference in the lives of many across Sussex.
The Russell Martin Foundation looks forward to more events like this in the future, continuing to bring the community together for great causes and unforgettable football moments.
