The Russell Martin Foundation has been awarded £71,000
The Russell Martin Foundation has been awarded £71,000 in the Capital to Coast Skills Support for the Workforce and Redundancy contract. Funded by the European Social Fund (ESF), and co-financed by the Skills Funding Agency, the project will deliver responsive workplace learning courses across Brighton & Hove and West Sussex, and will aim to enhance employee skills and career prospects as well as reducing the risk of long-term unemployment.
Chief Executive, Dr. Alan Sanders said
“We are delighted to be able to extend our community education provision with this free skills training programme for adults. We welcome enquiries from local small and medium employers who have under 250 employees. Managers can nominate any employees who might benefit from a short course to boost their day to day Maths and English skills. The courses are designed to extend existing skills or to revisit and revive knowledge which may have got a bit rusty since school days, and learning is based on real-life situations, something which is more inviting for the learner. The entire programme and learning resources are available online and can be easily worked through at each individual’s own pace, and we offer full support and guidance throughout the process. A short online test is taken at the end of the course allowing the individual to achieve a national Level 1 or Level 2 qualification in Maths or English, with Level 2 being the equivalent of a GSCE in either subject.”
